Airline Tycoon II video game rights go to Kalypso

Airline Tycoon II logoKalypso Media are thrilled to announce the acquisition of the worldwide name and publishing rights for Airline Tycoon II from Spellbound Entertainment. Kalypso plan to release the long awaited sequel in the first quarter of 2011 with the development being managed by their own studio; Realmforge.

Airline Tycoon II will further strengthen our line up for the first quarter of 2011.’ says Simon Hellwig, Global Managing Director Kalypso Media Group.

Airline Tycoon II is currently in development by Realmforge based in Munich, and will be a brand new PC project from the team currently working on MudTV. The highly anticipated sequel of the acclaimed management simulation game sees the player take the reins of an airline which they must bring to financial success. As well as managing staff, buying new airplanes and opening up new air routes players must deal with crabby passengers and engage in espionage and sabotage against their competitors.

Airline Tycoon II will be available on PC in Q1 2011.
