Football SuperStars Releases First Character Renders And Calls For Testers For Closed Alpha

CyberSports, the new games industry publisher of world-class global, massively multi-player online (MMO) sports games using leading-edge technology, today released the first character renders for its premiere title, Football SuperStars.

With the game just about to enter its closed Alpha stage, where select external Testers are poised to be the first people to get ‘hands on’ with this eagerly awaited sports MMO, CyberSports and developer Monumental Games have released the first character renders to give people a taste of what to expect.

An online MMO game for the PC, Football SuperStars will immerse players in a utopian soccer-styled virtual world and take part in 3, 5, 7 and 11-a-side football matches. Players will take control of a single footballer and will interact on and off the pitch, living the football superstar lifestyle whilst pursuing fame, glory and success, striving to join the best clubs, competing at the highest level and progressing within the game through skill and sporting prowess. The player will exist in a persistent football-themed world and be able to join or form their own teams and manage their careers whilst engaging in various leagues.

“Game-play and realism are revolutionary,” said Malcolm Clark, CEO of CyberSports. “Playing in and against teams of real people is simply the right way to play a football game, and the MMOG platform is perfect to bring like-minded gamers and football fans together. Football SuperStars will be a totally immersive football experience combining the most realistic football matches ever played with a true lifestyle environment for the budding superstars to explore and show off their trappings of success and become famous.”

Rik Alexander, CEO of Monumental Games, added “We are extremely happy with how Football SuperStars is progressing, and now we have almost reached Closed Alpha we can release some images so people can see how far we’ve come. The realism of the human controlled teams and the superb graphics of the character avatars and stadiums make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, like you are walking onto the pitch in real life.”

“It’s all coming together,” Malcolm Clark, commented further “The full 11-a-side matches we play in the studio have the atmosphere and tension of a real football match. In a week or so we’ll start to choose Closed Alpha testers from the people who have registered, so if you would like to be part of Football SuperStars and be among the first to experience the most realistic football game ever, then go to www.footballsuperstars.com and sign up now. We can’t wait to see your reaction.”

Football SuperStars will enter its Closed Alpha stage in the coming weeks and selected external Testers will at last be able to take part in the creation of the game. During the coming months, more and more external Testers will be needed to ensure that Football SuperStars is the best game it can possibly be. Anyone who would like to take part as an external Tester can nominate themselves by visiting www.footballsuperstars.com and registering their details.

Football SuperStars will be available to play on the PC and is scheduled to go live in Q2 2008
