British computer games publisher SCi Entertainment has received a takeover approach from Chinese rival CDC Corporation, The Sunday Telegraph reported.
SCi, which owns the successful Tomb Raider franchise starring Lara Croft, said in September it was in talks with several potential acquirers but has yet to update the market on their progress.
The front runner at the time was reported by media to be Ubisoft, but the French company told Reuters last month it was not interested.
The Sunday Telegraph said Nasdaq-listed CDC, which owns the China.com portal, wanted to buy SCi to expand the international reach of its games division.
A spokesman from SCi declined to comment.
