Wallace & Gromit PC video game screenshots

Inventor and canine companion to join Telltale's lineup in new episodic series, "Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures"

Following up on last week's announcement of Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures, Telltale, Inc., the leader in interactive episodic entertainment, has released a cinematic teaser trailer and new details about the project. The upcoming game series based on Aardman Animations' Wallace & Gromit franchise is joining Telltale's all-star lineup, which includes the award-winning Sam & Max series and Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People, debuting soon on WiiWare and PC.

Wallace & Gromit's Grand Adventures will combine the rich and imaginative storytelling the quirky inventor and his faithful canine sidekick are known for with the critically-acclaimed writing, fun gameplay, and unique TV-style format Telltale has pioneered. Assuming the roles of both Wallace and Gromit, players will spend each episode exploring a vivid world, assembling intricate contraptions, and getting the duo out of the sticky situations they frequently find themselves in. Combat Mission Shock Force & Marines PC game v1.11 patch download

Battlefront has just released the new v1.11 patch for Combat Mission Shock Force and CMSF Marines! It's so packed full with new features, massive AI improvements and the obligatory bug fixes that there is only one question - will it all fit under your christmas tree?!

Here are just a couple of the highlights of v1.11:

- Turn-based action is pre-computed with a "blue bar" before the action is displayed. This allows for improved performance of large battles on older computers, and for convenient "skipping ahead" in the early turns of a battle before enemy contact.

- Suppressive fire: when you order direct fire at an enemy infantry unit, and that enemy unit later disappears from sight, the target order is not immediately canceled. Instead, your unit will continue to area-fire sporadically at the enemy's last known location for a short time if the LOS is sufficiently clear for area-style targeting (note that sometimes it won't be). Volume of fire is lighter versus open terrain, and shots will be taken at other targets of opportunity as usual. If the enemy reappears, it will again be targeted directly. If it does not reappear for about 45 seconds, the target order is canceled. A similar behavior applies to individual soldiers who have fired on enemy infantry without targeting orders from the player. They will continue to area-fire at their target's last known location for about 30 seconds.

Players can join the Fortune Bombing by using WLO Credits. Each play only costs 150 Credits, and guarantees they’ll win something from among all the valuable items and gear.

Event Flow

1. After entering the Fortune Bombing page players will see a login prompt. Players need to sign in first before playing.
2. Each play will cost 150 WLO Credits, which will be deducted from the player's account. The wheel can't roll when there are not enough credits in the account.
3. What the pointer indicates when the wheel stops moving will be the final prize, and the rewards will be given out during the maintenance on December 30th.
4. The system prompt will announce the winner's prize, and then players can click the "Play Again" button at the bottom left corner of the screen to restart if they want to continue to play the Fortune Bombing.

2008 was a great year for the undead with Space Zombies in Dead Space by Valve made the best Zombie job with Left 4 Dead...

Left 4 Dead had great fun multi-player options and some superb design features.

Banjo Kazooie nuts and bolts text patch - make text bigger...

Rare have released a patch that allows the text to be enlarged .

Rare quietly released a long-awaited patch for Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts. The problem of small text was first discovered and deemed "too expensive" to fix, a position that was later recanted.

This patch lets you keep the teensy-text if you choose but allows larger text to be used.

Just in case you don't have a 50 inch TV - LOL.

Xbox Live Arcade make Microsoft Happy this Christmas

Oh the weather outside is frightful – so grab a cup of cocoa and enjoy this year’s biggest hits on Xbox LIVE Arcade. Gamers and critics agree that 2008 was a stellar year for Xbox LIVE Arcade, which saw record numbers and the most impressive line-up of titles ever.

Santa’s making a list and checking it twice – he knows that Xbox LIVE Arcade is home to the best pick-up-and-play downloadable games available and some of the year’s best titles. In fact, the games have been so good that people have earned more than 1.25 billion (yes, that’s billion with a “b”) Gamerscore and unlocked nearly 100 million Achievements in Xbox LIVE Arcade titles to date.

The Xbox LIVE team launched some of the highest rated titles this year, with more than 60 games scoring an industry-leading metacritic rating of over 75.

“Braid,” beat out big-budget blockbuster retail titles and was named the #2 video game of the year by TIME, “Best Independent Game” of the year by G4TV, and #5 game of the year by Associated Press. Developed by Number None, Inc. and published by Microsoft Game Studios, “Braid” is the No. 1 highest-rated game of all time on Xbox LIVE Arcade, and continues to be one of the top Xbox 360 games available. It even had the highest metacritic rating of any downloadable game this year with an astounding 93 (which was on-par with retail titles like critically acclaimed “Gears of War 2” and “Fallout 3”).

Gamers’ wish lists may also include this year’s favorites, “Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2” (90), “Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix” (89), and “Portal: Still Alive” (89). Last month, Bizarre Creations announced that there are now more than one million combined leader board entries for Geometry Wars Retro Evolved 1 & 2 – that’s a lot of people! We know gamers have been enticed by this impressive line-up – 110 million trial games have been downloaded on Xbox LIVE Arcade to date.

“Momentum for Xbox LIVE Arcade has been incredible this year,” director of digitally distributed games for Microsoft Scott Austin, said. “Xbox LIVE Arcade has really become the top destination for premium downloadable games. And we’ve got a long list of games coming out in 2009 that we think will be just as incredible as what we already have on the service.”

While these new records ring in a winter wonderland, they come hot on the heels of the scorching Summer of Arcade – the most successful season Xbox LIVE Arcade had ever seen. The summer’s best titles which were released over the course of five weeks including “Bionic Commando: Rearmed,” and “Galaga Legions” led to a 58 percent increase in unique members purchasing titles.
